- Basted all the cut out pieces
- Sew and prepare sleeve and hood seams for a faux flat felled seam (using 4cm bias strips to cover the seam). Now needs to be handstitched.
- Sew bias strips together for back piece

📍 The Pin Killer.

The pin didn't survive... but the machine did.

I'm usually a stickler for pulling out the pins just in time, but apparently not this one.

What effect does your sewing have on others?
Surprised to get a message that my personal profil Surprised to get a message that my personal profile made the front page of PatternReview.com (@patternreview) today.

I use Pattern Review a lot when considering a sewing pattern to use, just to know if others have had success, or more importantly, haven't. I also recommend it to others.

I don't actually post my own reviews, though, and I've recently been thinking that I should.

So last night, I shared my second-ever review for a Vogue navy and white knit top that I finished recently. That must be why I got picked up.

Certainly unexpected.

So this is my recommendation to you: check out PatternReview.com - and if you go over the next 22 hours, you may see me on the home page.

My quilt is finished 🎉🎉🎉 It’s been a long slog to My quilt is finished 🎉🎉🎉

It’s been a long slog to finish.

Started it 382 days ago, and it’s been put away a few times.

Originally I was going to make it reversible so one side would have navy flowers, and the other side light blue flowers. But cutting out and sewing all those curves takes ages and I wanted it finished.

Now that it’s done I’m so glad I gave sewing curves a go. I may not go back to them for a while though.

All the details:
🧵 Fortune pattern from Sewing with Curves book by Daisy Aschehoug (@warmfolk)
🪡 Chambray and Navy Prima Homespun
🧵 Grape Kaleidoscope Blender
🪡 60% Cotton / 40% Poly Batting (2 layers)

Extra Tools used:
🔨 Walking foot
🔨 Stripology XL Ruler by @creativegrids to cut out fabric strips
🔨 Circle Savvy Ruler by @creativegrids to cut out quarter circles and arcs
🔨 Curve Master presser foot to sew quarter circles together without pins or glue
